Our campaign, The Way He Lies, was created in 2018 by
Roberta Ivanova,
Olga Franch,
Mar Castán
and Júlia Serra.
Four powerful, hounded women who decided to speak up and joined together to search the way out.

During their meeting they decided to create a campaign towards gender violence. Roberta was a librarian and while she was working, she met an University student with some bruises around her neck and she tried to speak with her. So, this girl was Olga, who had a boyfriend who was abusing her and Roberta invited her to join the campaign.

The story of how we met each other is that Júlia is Mar’s and Roberta’s children teacher and both were suffering gender violence. Mar is a divorced woman and Roberta was living with her husband, who threatened her using their children to control her. One day, they were speaking with their children’s teacher since the teacher, Júlia, had noticed that the kids were afraid of something. While Júlia was speaking, Mar and Roberta noticed that she was suffering economical abuse by her husband too and they arranged to meet.

Our objective is to help everybody who suffers because of gender violence and encourage them not to allow the aggressors follow the cycle. Furthermore, we make people open their hearts and realize that everything which prives your freedom is violence . Don’t wait to the nick of time, call.
